I found myself drawn to Fire Guild precisely because nobody talks about it. This is a small, unassuming puzzle game where you pilot a hot-air balloon to extinguish fires spreading across floating islands. The mechanic is straightforward - angle your descent, manage wind currents, and drop water where it's needed most. Each level is compact enough to solve in a few minutes, yet the difficulty curve climbs steadily. The pixel art has that hand-stitched quality that makes you feel the developer's intention in every frame, and the ambient soundtrack never overstays its welcome. What works is the pacing. A 5-hour campaign knows exactly when to bow out, which is rare indie discipline.
