About Farming Simulator 22 - Premium Expansion (DLC)
Farming Simulator 22 is a deep, systems-heavy agricultural simulation where you manage crop cycles, livestock, equipment fleets, and supply chains across open-world maps. The Premium Expansion bolts on a significant content package: the Zielonka map (a Central-European, Polish-inspired landscape with distinct field layouts and terrain), a new crop category focused on root vegetables, and a roster of over 35 additional machines and tools from real-world manufacturers. If you already own and enjoy the base game, this is a straightforward value calculation - more land, more crops, more iron. The Zielonka map deserves its own sentence of praise. It plays differently from the base-game maps. Fields are shaped by the terrain rather than carved into tidy rectangles, which means planning your equipment roster and cultivation routes actually requires thought. Small fields push you toward compact tractors and precision tools; larger open sections reward the heavy machinery unlocked deeper into the progression. That kind of spatial decision-making is exactly where FS22 earns its hours-played badges, and Zielonka delivers it. The root crop additions - parsnip, red beet, and related plants - slot cleanly into the existing supply chain logic. They introduce new harvesting tool requirements and different storage considerations, so veteran players will feel the gentle pressure to reorganize their logistics, not just their field rotation. It is incremental depth rather than a mechanical reinvention, but that is the design philosophy of the entire franchise. Giants Software rarely blows up what works; they layer on top of it. For newcomers landing here from a search: the base game plus this expansion is a legitimate entry point into the series, but respect the learning curve. The in-game tutorial covers tractor controls and basic crop cycles well enough, but supply chains, animal husbandry, and the production module all require patience or a good wiki session. The mod ecosystem on the Giants Mod Hub is enormous, and that community infrastructure makes the learning process significantly less painful. You will not be alone figuring out silage fermentation timings. What does not work as well: the AI helper workers are as stubborn as ever, occasionally driving expensive equipment into fences or refusing to handle irregular field shapes without manual correction. On Zielonka specifically, the non-rectangular fields will stress-test those helpers more than the base maps. It is a known franchise limitation, not a new bug introduced by this expansion. The 35+ machines are solid but spread across manufacturers and use cases unevenly - a handful are genuinely game-changing, most are pleasant additions you will park in a shed after one season. Bottom line for anyone with FS22 already installed: if you have tapped out the base maps and want a fresh layout with a new crop rotation challenge, this is the expansion that earns its place in the library.
