Explodemon

I found Explodemon refreshing precisely because it doesn't pretend to be Mega Man. Instead of demanding frame-perfect jumps, it leans into its gimmick: you detonate on command, and that blast propels you through hazards and enemies. The sprite work is clean, the pacing snappy, and there's real craft in how each stage escalates the mechanic without overstaying its welcome. It's a game that knows a 2D platformer should be fun, not punishing. The downside is how straightforward it all feels after the first act. Once you've internalized the explosion rhythm, challenge plateaus into repetition. There's no difficulty scaling, no hidden depths, just steady action. That's okay. Not every indie needs a postgame or New Game Plus. Explodemon is honest about what it is: a smart, compact burst of mayhem that respects your time.
