That's the whole hook of Eon Altar, and Episode 2 needs the base Eon Altar game (Episode 1) installed and finished, since it drops straight into the aftermath of the Wolf of Yriel fight with zero recap. This is a story add-on, not cosmetics or gear: it adds a new questline through the catacombs beneath Old Tarnum, continuing the same characters and still using everyone's phones as private controllers around one shared screen. Skip it if you haven't cleared Episode 1 or don't have a few friends free to huddle around a single screen with their phones out. It's built for the small group already committed to the format and wanting the story to keep moving, not a way in for newcomers.
