I spent a handful of runs with Elsie and came away impressed by how deliberately the game leans into pure mechanical joy. You dash through neon-soaked procedural levels, picking up magitek weapons that feel genuinely distinct, and the combat loop never asks you to sit through exposition or elaborate on why you're here. It's hyperkinetic in the best sense: responsive, colorful, and built for short bursts or longer sessions depending on your mood. What works is the weapon variety. Each run feels different enough that you'll chase just one more go. The pixel art pops, and the pacing respects your time. It's not trying to be Hades or Deep Rock Galactic. It's content being a tight, single-developer project that knows exactly what it is: pure arcade energy in a roguelike shell.
