Eagle Island
Throw a falcon instead of swinging a sword. An odd, great-looking 2D roguelite platformer with one genuinely fresh idea and a run structure that can't quite keep pace with it.
GamerScout Verdict
Worth it for platformer fans who want a combat idea they haven't played before, less so if you need deep roguelite variety.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Eagle Island
The first hour trips up almost everyone for the same reason: you have no sword and no gun, just a bird you throw at things and then wait to get back. Aiming feels floaty, enemies punish the recovery window, and a procedurally built room will happily end a run before the mechanic clicks. Push through it. Once you learn to lead your throws, ricochet shots off geometry, and stack elemental feather upgrades, the combat becomes something I haven't really played anywhere else in a 2D platformer. The art and the bird animation are the standout, and the moment-to-moment movement is tight enough to carry the weaker parts. Those weaker parts are the run structure: layouts start repeating, upgrade luck decides too many attempts, and the middle stretch drags. A non-roguelite mode with hand-built stages was added after launch, and that is where I would start if permadeath loops annoy you. Otherwise, a small, sincere game doing one weird thing well.
