DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS - Digital Deluxe Edition

I've watched Dynasty Warriors iterate the same Three Kingdoms battles since 2000, and Origins breaks the mold by centering you, a nameless nobody who becomes a general through your own choices and relationships. You build a character from scratch, and the story actually branches based on which faction you serve and which generals you ally with, this isn't window dressing. Combat is the expected hack-and-slash mayhem, but the progression system rewards building toward specific playstyles (speed builds, heavy-hitter builds, tactical builds), and it holds together past the early grind. The Metacritic 84 sits honestly here. Battles can feel samey in their second hour, and if you hate linear objective markers or stamina systems, Origins won't convert you. But if you've ever wanted a musou game that treats your character's arc seriously instead of retreading Guan Yu's retirement speech, this is it.
