Driftwatch [VR]
A short VR on-rails shooter with one genuinely good idea (riding a whale into a goblin fight) and not much built around it.
GamerScout Verdict
A striking VR set piece stretched thin; fine as a short room-scale demo, weak as a full game.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Driftwatch [VR]
The whale is the reason to look at this. Standing on the back of a giant creature as it drifts over a fantasy landscape while goblins swarm at you is a legitimately striking VR moment, and Sevenedge Interactive Media clearly knew it. The on-rails structure means you never fight the locomotion, which was smart design for 2016 Vive hardware, and the weapon set does the job: magic for crowd clearing, a longbow that rewards actual arm control, dual crossbows when you want to stop aiming carefully and just spray. Tracked controller support is the whole point here, and the shooting itself feels fine. What it does not have is depth. The helicopter platform sections trade the whale's novelty for something much more ordinary, enemy variety thins out fast, and the content runs dry well before a full-price release should. Steam users have been rough on it, and the complaints track: this plays like a well-built VR demo asked to carry a full game. If you collect early Vive experiences or want a short arcade shooting gallery for showing people what room-scale can do, there is something here. As a game you sit down with, it runs out of ideas quickly.
