Dogfight 1942 Fire over Africa
A lean WW2 dogfighter that doesn't pretend to be a sim, it's pure arcade shooting with a North African campaign as window dressing.
GamerScout Verdict
For arcade plane shooters without simulation pretense: solid, dated, and honest.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About Dogfight 1942 Fire over Africa
I've put a few hours into Dogfight 1942, and it's exactly what it advertises: a straightforward arcade flight shooter where you climb into a cockpit and spray bullets at Axis planes over desert maps. No complex damage models, no fuel management, no six-degrees-of-freedom learning curve. You pick a plane, fly missions in campaign mode, and rack up kills. It's bare-bones by modern standards, but the 97% Steam score suggests the core loop works for people who just want to shoot things in the air without PhD-level flight physics. The real question isn't whether it's good, but whether arcade dogfighting without frills scratches your itch. If you're chasing DCS-level realism or even Warthunder's depth, walk past. If you remember the original Ace Combat or just want a chill mission-based shooter with planes, this delivers. It's old (released in 2012), it looks dated, and it won't set your machine on fire. But it's honest work.
