A carnival shooting-gallery collection dressed in Toy Story clothes, built to replicate the Disney theme park ride. Short, simple, and aimed squarely at young kids and franchise fans.

Toy Story Mania is a minigame compilation built directly around the Toy Story Midway Mania theme park attraction at Disney's California Adventure and Hollywood Studios. Papaya Studio translated the ride's core loop, rapid-fire shooting galleries, into a home game that supports up to four players in both competitive and co-operative modes. Each thematically connected level puts a different Toy Story character front and centre: one booth has you tossing rings onto Little Green Men in a Buzz Lightyear-hosted challenge, others involve target shooting, a skee-ball-style game, and a Fruit Ninja-adjacent minigame. Bonus 3D modes are included for players with compatible glasses, and the PC release originally shipped with a Ray Gun peripheral in Europe, though that perk is long gone in digital storefronts. The honest assessment: this is a kids game, rated Everyone, and it behaves like one. Ammo is unlimited, missing shots carries no penalty, and the difficulty curve is flat enough that younger players can join without frustration. That accessibility is a genuine strength when you have a six-year-old on the couch next to you. The shooting gallery minigames carry the experience well enough, and the licensed presentation is faithful, with original character voices and the unmistakable visual style of the films. There are around 30 challenges to work through, which sounds substantial until you realize most take under two minutes each. The problems stack up fast for anyone outside the target age bracket. The gallery format barely changes across the whole game, and once you have learned where the high-value targets sit, sessions blur together quickly. The PC port adds its own friction: motion-based inputs were designed for the Wii remote, and translating those gestures to mouse shaking on a PC is unreliable at best. Bugs and input registration issues appear throughout the Steam community threads, and there has been no meaningful post-launch patching to address them. Savvier players will find the challenge too low, and younger children may get snagged on the uneven control translation. The game does exactly one thing very well: it captures the theme park feeling in miniature. If a child in your household loved the ride, this delivers a recognizable echo of that experience at home, with Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Rex, and the rest doing their thing in a cheerful carnival setting. As a solo adult purchase, the brevity and repetition make it hard to recommend without significant reservations. It works best as a shared family session game, played in short bursts, not a dedicated single-player sit-down. Alex, Scout Team
