I went in expecting standard magical-girl romance tropes, and Destiny Star Girlfriend doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it leans into the absurdity with enough charm to carry you through. You're Seiji, a nobody high school student, suddenly bound to Yuuri after her cover gets blown by actual space demons. The story's hook is solid: watching two people navigate romance while one of them has to fight off alien invaders before lunch creates honest comedic tension. The writing knows when to play it straight and when to let the setup breathe. This is a short, dialogue-heavy game that works best if you're already comfortable with visual novel pacing and don't need constant branching choices to feel invested. It's not feature-heavy or mechanically complex, think of it as a few hours of character-driven story with light puzzle moments. If you like your romance grounded despite the sci-fi wrapper, and you appreciate indie VN writing that doesn't take itself too seriously, it's worth your time. Just know going in that it's small-scale, single-playthrough stuff.
