About Dawn of Kagura: Keika's Story
I approached this as a tactical roguelike and found something closer to a deck-builder with swords. You play Keika, a priestess exorcising youkai across procedurally shuffled dungeons, but the real strategy isn't in combat positioning, it's in deciding which recruits to keep and how their abilities stack. Each run reshuffles enemy types and loot, which sounds promising until repetition sets in fast. The replayability hook depends entirely on whether synergy discovery keeps you engaged, and for a 2022 indie title, the presentation doesn't do much to sweeten the grind. If you're comfortable with modest production values and want a low-friction rogue-like where team composition matters more than twitch reflexes, there's a functional game here. Just know you're buying raw mechanical depth, not polish or narrative pull. The youkai recruitment system has legs if you're willing to dig. Diego, Scout Team
