Dark PGT

Dark PGT is a solo Unreal Engine 5 project that swings hard: a Souls-like wrapped in the skin of a Soviet-future fever dream, where you inhabit a schizophrenic alcoholic protagonist spiraling through a village thick with secrets and dread. The core loop is familiar (dodge, parry, learn enemy patterns), but the framing is bracingly strange, combat bleeds into psychological narrative, hallucinations warp level design, and the story asks uncomfortable questions about mental illness and agency. What works: the artistic conviction. This doesn't feel like committee design. The aesthetic is oppressive and intentional, the mood held firm from moment one. What might not work for everyone: rough edges are visible, the narrative is dense and melancholic, and the pacing assumes patience. There's no handholding. If you're burnt out on polish-over-substance, if you respect a dev betting everything on a vision, Dark PGT rewards that trust. A short, scar-forming experience from someone who made exactly the game they needed to make.
