About Crime Boss: Rockay City First Month Edition
The cast is the whole pitch and it mostly lands. Michael Madsen growls his way through Travis Baker like he is being paid by the cigarette, and the supporting roster of familiar action-movie faces gives every briefing a straight-to-video charm the shooting never quite matches. Underneath it sits a Payday-shaped co-op heist game with a roguelite turf war stapled on: recruit crews, claim districts of Rockay City, run jobs, and watch a run end for good when Baker takes one bullet too many. The problem is the twenty minutes between the cutscenes. Gunplay is stiff, enemy cops swing between oblivious and psychic, and the job templates repeat long before the campaign map does. Bringing three friends papers over most of it. Playing solo with AI crew members does the opposite. Come for the pulpy crime-flick framing and the map-grabbing loop, not for a heist shooter that holds up against the genre's best.
