A physics puzzler that hands you gears, belts and lasers and expects you to think like an engineer, not a gamer. Fiddly, dated, quietly addictive.

Before this one gives you anything, it wants patience and a tolerance for trial and error. You get a board, a goal (roll the ball into the basket, light the bulb, pop the balloon), and a tray of parts: gears, conveyor belts, ropes, magnets, springs, lasers. Then you tinker. Placement is measured in pixels, and a contraption that fails by a hair looks identical to one that works until you hit play. Over 200 levels ship here, and the Inventor's Training Camp up front actually teaches the physics rules rather than dumping you straight into the hard stuff, which is more than most puzzle games of its era bothered with. What works is the moment your Rube Goldberg chain finally clicks and eight parts fire in sequence. What doesn't is everything around it: mouse handling is imprecise, the presentation is dated even for a 2008 release, and later puzzles occasionally lean on guesswork over deduction. It's single-player only, no sandbox community to keep it alive. If you like The Incredible Machine and want a few evenings of quiet, methodical fiddling, this delivers exactly that and nothing more. Worth it for Incredible Machine fans who enjoy fiddly physics tinkering and can forgive dated 2008 presentation.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.

Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.
