Strip away the genre mislabeling and what you actually have is a first-person FMV interactive fiction title rooted in xianxia fantasy, where the male protagonist discovers a family cultivation technique that powers up warriors from another realm called Canwei. The framing is absurd by design, and if you can make peace with that, the experience becomes surprisingly coherent on its own terms. The core loop works like this: scenes play out in live-action video from a first-person perspective, you make choices that branch the narrative, and a performance rating system ties your scores to cultivation outcomes. Higher ratings unlock better story paths and push your chosen character toward their exclusive ending. There are four characters to pursue, each with distinct personalities and lore hooks. Rourou is your classmate and a wealthy shop manager; Baize is a warrior from the Realm of Canwei; Zhuxin is a nature-born healer; and Wushuang is a general commanding the Snow Kingdom. Each route has its own tone, and the writing quality between them varies noticeably. Quick-time event prompts and branching choices are the main interactive tools, so anyone expecting tactical depth will find the experience closer to a visual novel than a simulation. Where the game stumbles is consistency. The community reception sits at a mixed rating around 59 percent positive from roughly 184 Steam reviews, and that split feels accurate. The live-action production values are uneven across scenes, localization into English is functional but awkward in places, and the strategy and RPG genre labels on the store page set expectations the game simply cannot meet. There is no resource management, no AI opponent, no build variety. What exists is a branching narrative with 15 achievements and multiple endings to unlock. For a completionist run targeting all four character routes, replay value is real but limited by how much mileage you get from the rating mechanic across repeated sessions. The audience for this is genuinely narrow. FMV fans who enjoyed titles in the interactive-movie space and have an appetite for Chinese xianxia aesthetics will find something worth finishing here.
