Combolands: Roguelike Citybuilder
A citybuilder compressed into 20-minute runs where one misplaced tavern collapses your whole adjacency chain. Combo math over sprawl.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for strategy players who want adjacency-puzzle depth in 20-minute runs, not a full city sim with logistics chains.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Combolands: Roguelike Citybuilder
My third run died because I dropped a market next to two houses instead of three, and the multiplier chain I had been building for eight minutes just stopped paying. That is the whole game in one moment. Crux Games has taken citybuilding and stripped out the logistics sprawl, leaving the part that actually makes decisions interesting: where a building sits relative to its neighbours, and what that adjacency pays out over the rest of the run. Placement is permanent, the tile pool is randomised, and the scoring pressure means you are always choosing between a safe two-point placement now and setting up a stack that might not arrive. The depth is real but the surface is small, and that cuts both ways. Runs are short enough to replay on a whim, and the systems teach themselves through failure rather than a tutorial wall, which is how this genre should onboard people. What you do not get is a campaign, a difficulty ladder with much texture, or the mod scene that keeps bigger strategy titles alive for years. Very Positive reviews from a small player base tell you it lands for the audience that wants it. If you need scale and simulation depth, this is not that.
