Cities: Skylines - Downtown Radio
Sixteen lounge tracks and a DJ host for your city-building sessions. Worth it if the base game's default radio already bores you, skippable if background music is an afterthought.
GamerScout Verdict
A functional lounge radio add-on for committed long-session builders; Workshop audio mods cover the same need for free.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.

About Cities: Skylines - Downtown Radio
I have a spreadsheet tracking every Cities: Skylines DLC by value-per-hour, and music packs sit firmly at the bottom of it. That is not a condemnation. It is just an honest placement. Downtown Radio is exactly what the label says: a pure audio add-on that swaps nothing in the simulation, touches no zoning mechanic, and adds zero buildings. If you are here hoping for expanded district policies, new transport options, or anything that changes a single traffic node, close this tab and look at Mass Transit or Industries instead. What you actually get is sixteen original lounge tracks composed by Troy Anderson, running to roughly an hour of playtime in total. The style sits in that retro-modern space, unhurried and smooth, designed to sit underneath four hours of highway planning without demanding your attention. Anderson also voices the in-game DJ host, which gives the station more personality than a bare playlist. For players who spend long build sessions with the game audio on rather than Spotify, that ambient character matters. The honest question to ask before buying is whether you have already exhausted the base game's default radio stations. Cities: Skylines ships with music, and the Steam Workshop hosts a substantial catalogue of free audio mods that the game's Workshop integration makes trivially easy to install. Downtown Radio is a curated, officially licensed alternative to that route, with the minor convenience of not needing to manage a Workshop subscription for audio. If you value that cleanliness, the DLC delivers on its narrow promise without any asterisks. From a strategy-and-sim standpoint, there is genuinely nothing to analyse here in terms of decision depth or build-order impact. The DLC does not interact with the simulation at all. What I can say is that Cities: Skylines as a base game rewards long, quiet sessions where background audio earns its keep, and a dedicated lounge station does serve that rhythm better than silence or a jarring genre mismatch. Whether that service is worth a separate purchase depends entirely on how many hours you are logging and how much the default soundtrack has worn thin. Skip it if you are still working through the base game's content or have not explored Workshop audio yet. Pick it up on a discount if you are a committed long-session builder who has already burned through every other station and wants something officially integrated without fuss.
