Cities in Motion: US Cities
A 2012 expansion that adds two US cities to Cities in Motion, but feels thin even by DLC standards and shows its age hard.
GamerScout Verdict
Skip unless you've exhausted every hour of the base game and want two more maps to shuffle buses around.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Cities in Motion: US Cities
I've spent enough time with Paradox's transport sims to know when an expansion is just map content with a new vehicle skin slapped on. US Cities gives you New York and Chicago in both sandbox and campaign modes, plus some transit vehicles specific to American cities. The premise is solid: larger populations and different urban layouts should force you to rethink your bus and subway networks. Problem is, the execution feels rushed. With only five Steam reviews and a 60% positive split, it's clear even the niche transport-sim audience found this underwhelming. The real issue isn't what's in the box, it's what isn't. The game itself (the base Cities in Motion) is from 2011, and this expansion does nothing to address its aging systems or UI. If you own the base game and want two more cities to tinker with, you might extract a few hours here. Otherwise, skip it. Modern alternatives like Cities: Skylines (even the original 2015 version) handle transit depth far better, and they've aged more gracefully. This is a relic of Paradox's grab-bag DLC era.
