Cities in Motion: Design Now
A 2011 transit management DLC that adds five new vehicle types to Cities in Motion, aimed at players already deep in the base game's simulation.
GamerScout Verdict
Completionists only; marginal vehicle upgrades that don't justify revisiting an aging transit sim.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Cities in Motion: Design Now
Design Now is a slim DLC pack for the original Cities in Motion, released in 2011 when Paradox was still experimenting with how to price transit-focused expansions. It adds five new buses and transit vehicles (including the Stern-Berger Midi, built around Swiss engineering principles) with slightly higher capacity or efficiency than their base-game equivalents. If you're already running a mid-to-late game city and want marginal upgrades to your fleet mix, these vehicles offer a minor optimization path. The 50% Steam review rating on four reviews suggests the DLC was niche even at launch, likely because the gains are incremental rather than game-changing. Skip this unless you're a completionist rebuilding your Cities in Motion save in 2024. The base game itself has aged poorly compared to Cities: Skylines, and this add-on doesn't address any of those fundamental gaps. Vehicle variety is rarely the bottleneck in transit sims, so treat it as cosmetic depth rather than essential content.
