Chronostorm: Siberian Border
A 2015 real-time strategy set on a near-future Russian border that struggles with AI clarity and pacing, but offers solid unit management if you're patient with its rough edges.
GamerScout Verdict
Niche RTS for patient players willing to work around rough edges for a low-pressure tactical sandbox.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Chronostorm: Siberian Border
Chronostorm is a real-time strategy that banks on geopolitical scenario tension rather than mechanical innovation. You command units across a Siberian theatre in single-player skirmishes, making tactical decisions about positioning and resource allocation. The core loop is competent: build base infrastructure, spawn units, push objectives. Unit responsiveness and move commands work fine, and there's enough variety in unit types to encourage some build diversity. The problem is execution. The AI doesn't telegraph intent well, unit pathfinding stumbles in clustered terrain, and the pacing feels glacial even at 1.5x speed. Tutorials are minimal, so you'll spend your first mission figuring out why your infantry won't attack. The mixed Steam reviews (59% positive) tell the story: solid foundation with too many friction points. If you want a low-stakes RTS sandbox to experiment in without the production polish of StarCraft or Company of Heroes, it works. Just don't expect clarity or handholding.
