GamerScout Verdict
Rough indie FPS with a Chernobyl hook; for completionists comfortable with jank, not a must-play mainstream title.

About Chernobyl Commando
I went in expecting jank, and Chernobyl Commando delivers exactly that. It's a straightforward action FPS built around a premise that's more schlock than simulation: terrorists at the reactor, you're the commando sent in to stop them. The gunplay is serviceable if clunky, and the Chernobyl setting gives it atmosphere that most indie shooters don't bother with. The real question is whether you tolerate early-2010s indie jank as part of the charm. If you want tight gunplay or modern AI, look elsewhere. But if you're the type who enjoys finding rough-edged games with a weird hook, this scratches that itch. It's not broken, just dated and small in scope. Fair warning: this is a niche recommendation for completionists and indie action collectors, not your next favorite FPS.
