I went in expecting another cozy builder, but Brand New World is ruthlessly strategic. You craft a character, establish a settlement, and every decision from resource allocation to which NPCs you befriend locks you into specific story paths. The consequence system is real: bad calls early cascade into mid-game bottlenecks, which means your first 10 hours matter as much as your 100th. It's 2024 Early Access, so expect balance patches and feature gaps, but the core loop of "I must reload because I didn't think three seasons ahead" works. The friction point: tutorials are sparse, and the game assumes you'll experiment, fail, and learn. If you want hand-holding, skip this.
