GamerScout Verdict
Dungeon builder fans might find fun here, but rough mechanics and shallow progression make this a tough sell at full price.

About BQM - BlockQuest Maker
I went in hoping BQM would scratch that builder-meets-dungeon-crawler itch, but what I found was a promising concept buried under clunky mechanics. You create block-based dungeons with enemies and traps, then play through your creations or others' designs in real-time combat. The core loop isn't broken, just feels undercooked - movement is stiff, combat feedback is muted, and the progression system doesn't give you much reason to keep grinding. The appeal is there for players who want creative control mixed with action, but the execution holds it back. Enemy AI is predictable, level design tools are basic, and there's not enough variety in mechanics to sustain long sessions. It's a budget indie title that knows what it wants to be; it just needed more polish and depth to get there.
