BOXROOM
A tidy-the-shelf sim that nails the satisfaction of a sorted backlog but runs dry once you realize nothing pushes back.
GamerScout Verdict
For tidiers who want a calm shelf-arranging loop, not for sim players who need systems that push back.
Compare Prices(5 stores)
Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About BOXROOM
The first hour is where BOXROOM loses people, and I understand why. You import your library, and the game hands you a room, a grid, and almost no explanation of why any arrangement is better than another. There is no failure state, no budget, no clock. If you need a system to reward you, that emptiness reads as broken. Push through anyway. Around the point where you start sorting by shelf theme instead of alphabetically, the Workshop assets and collection tools click into a genuinely calming loop. What it is not is a strategy game, whatever the store tag says. There are no competing pressures, no optimization frontier, nothing an AI opponent would contest. Decoration is expression, not decision-making. The Early Access build is stable and the achievement hooks give light structure, but 71 percent positive feels about right: charming, well-scoped, and thin the moment you ask it for depth. Buy it as a relaxing organizer, not as a sim.
