About Bold New World
Bold New World is a city management sim from 2017 that never quite broke through to mainstream awareness. You're building and managing a city from scratch, balancing budgets, zoning, and infrastructure in a top-down perspective. The core loop is familiar to anyone who's spent time in Simcity or Tropico, but the UI doesn't do much to hold your hand or explain what's actually happening under the hood. What works is the spreadsheet-y satisfaction of watching systems interact when you finally figure out what you're doing. What doesn't is the learning curve without a proper tutorial, and the overall polish feels like a passion project rather than a fully-baked studio release. If you're a city-builder veteran who doesn't mind squinting at tooltips and re-starting a few times to understand the mechanics, there's a game here. If you want something welcoming or modern, look elsewhere.
