About Bloo Kid 2
The store page promises pixel-art charm, a full chiptune soundtrack, and five worlds of twelve levels each. All of that is true, and the pixel work in particular is warmer than it needs to be for a game this small. Where reality drifts from the pitch is the word "huge". These are bite-sized stages built around a single jump-and-stomp verb, and the worlds distinguish themselves mostly through palette and hazard type rather than new mechanics. The swimming sections handle the way swimming always does in this subgenre, which is to say they are the part you tolerate. What saves it is the feel. The jump has a short, readable arc, deaths are quick, restarts are quicker, and the boss fights actually ask you to learn a pattern instead of just soaking hits. Secrets give the completionist run some spine. It is a couple of evenings, not a landmark, and it knows that. If you want a controller-friendly retro platformer to finish rather than one to obsess over, this holds its shape from start to end.
