I went in expecting another souls-like tribute act, but Blind Fate strips away most of the cruft. You're hunting cyber-enhanced bosses pulled from Japanese folklore in a post-apocalyptic setting, and the core loop is pure: parry their attacks, identify openings, chain implant abilities (your cyberware acts as spell slots), and dodge the punishing counterhits. There's no leveling to carry you through careless play. What works is the boss design itself - each encounter teaches a distinct rhythm, and once it clicks, there's real satisfaction in the execution. The catch: the game is short (3-5 hours) and rough around the edges. The story barely exists, the environment palette gets samey fast, and online discussion suggests some boss patterns feel cheaper than challenging. But if you're after a tightly-wound parry-combat gauntlet without pretense, this delivers. It's not trying to be Dark Souls - it's a mid-tier action arcade with one good idea executed competently.
