Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold
A Wolfenstein 3D descendant with interrogatable scientists, keycard mazes and a working radar. Stiff by modern standards, sharp if you want a shareware FPS with more structure.
GamerScout Verdict
Worth it for retro FPS fans who want Wolf3D speed with smarter level systems; skip if flat maze corridors bore you.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold
The first hour is where most people bounce off. Corridors that all look alike, color-keyed doors that send you backtracking through cleared rooms, and enemies that soak more shots than you expect from something built on Wolfenstein 3D's bones. Push past that and the design starts showing its hand. Blake Stone layers systems onto the old formula that the original never had: informant scientists you can question for hints or gun down for supplies, food dispensers that double as health stations, and a radar that keeps the maze readable when the wall textures stop helping. What it is not is a Doom rival. Levels are flat, the sprite work is stiff, and the sci-fi station theme thins out across six episodes of similar hallways. But the shooting is quick, the secret hunting actually pays, and the whole thing carries a shareware-era confidence that has aged better than its visuals. If you want a maze shooter with a bit of structure bolted on, it holds.
