Black blood
A scrappy tower defense-shooter hybrid that asks you to place defenses and personally gun down waves of aliens, low budget, high friction, but oddly compelling if you're into both genres.
GamerScout Verdict
Niche appeal: tower defense fans willing to swap their mouse for a weapon and live with rough edges will find something different here.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Black blood
Black blood leans hard into the mashup: you're placing towers like a classic TD game, but you're also the gun in the fight, moving around the map and firing at invaders yourself. It's a weird split of responsibilities that forces you to juggle macro strategy (tower placement, upgrades, resource management) with micro combat reflexes. The alien designs are goofy in a charming way, and there's something satisfying about watching your defenses chew through a wave while you're reloading in the corner. The rough edges are real. UI is clunky, the difficulty spike can feel arbitrary, and the pacing drags in spots where you're just waiting for the next wave. But if you dig tower defense enough to forgive janky controls and enjoy the idea of being an active combatant instead of a disembodied cursor, this scratches an itch nothing else quite does.
