I've learned to trust indie RPGs that don't announce themselves. Beyond the Sunset follows Jessica, a writer whose ordinary life fractures after meeting a mysterious stranger. The game unfolds through conversation, choice-based storytelling, and small RPG mechanics that feel purposeful rather than mandatory. There's no combat bloat here, just walking, talking, and the slow accumulation of strange details that reshape what you thought you knew. What works is the restraint. The pixel art is muted, the soundtrack drifts in and out, and nothing feels rushed. This is a game about mood and mystery over spectacle. It rewards players who sit with ambiguity and aren't afraid of a story that doesn't spell everything out. If you want combat, loot, or leveling systems, look elsewhere. If you want to feel something quiet and unsettling unfold at its own pace, this one's worth your time.
