Beyond the Ice Palace 2
A short, sharp chain-swinging platformer that wants your reflexes more than your time. Rough edges everywhere, but the combat momentum carries it.
GamerScout Verdict
Worth it if you want tight chain-swinging combat and big bosses in a short package, not a deep metroidvania.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Beyond the Ice Palace 2
Before it hands you anything, this one asks for clean thumbs and a tolerance for repetition. You come back as the Cursed King, and the chains that held you down are now your whip, your grapple, and your crowd control, which means the entire game is built around reading enemy spacing and committing to a swing. Get that rhythm and the moment-to-moment combat sings. Miss it and you will eat the same corridor five times while you relearn the timing, because checkpoints are not generous and the level design leans on hazard placement more than clever geometry. What works is the feel of the chain and the boss fights, which go big and readable in a way the smaller encounters never quite match. What does not is everything around it: hidden areas that reward poking at walls more than actual exploration, a leveling system thin enough that most upgrades barely register, and a run time that ends right as the kit gets interesting. It is an indie action platformer doing one thing well and shrugging at the rest. If chain-based combat and old-school arcade pacing are the pitch that sold you, you will get your money's worth of that specific thing and not much else.
