About Between Horizons
I spent my first hour in Between Horizons just listening. The Zephyr hums with ambient dread, its corridors rendered in soft 2.5D, and the writing lets you piece together something's wrong without melodrama. You're a detective 33 years into deep space, interviewing crew, collecting clues, deciding who to trust. The story branches meaningfully, not theater-kid branching, and your choices actually lock you into different endings. It respects your attention span and intelligence in a way most adventure games forget to. What works is restraint. No timed sequences, no arbitrary puzzles. The pacing moves at conversation speed, and the pixel art leans into mood over spectacle. What doesn't: if you need constant momentum or character melodrama, the slow burn will feel like stalling. But if you loved Return of the Obra Dinn's detective work or Kentucky Route Zero's quiet dread, this is made for you.
