Beachhead: DESERT WAR
A one-gun arcade wave shooter hauled off a 2000s cabinet and onto PC. Sharp for twenty minutes, with very little reason to come back after that.
GamerScout Verdict
Worth it only for arcade shooter completists and Beachhead nostalgics; everyone else is done inside an hour.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Beachhead: DESERT WAR
Time Crisis kept you ducking between cover; DESERT WAR bolts you to one gun emplacement and dares you to hold the horizon. This is arcade cabinet DNA transplanted to PC, a wave shooter where armor, helicopters and infantry crawl across open desert and your only decisions are which weapon to cycle to and what to kill first. No cover, no movement, no story, just target priority and trigger discipline. The reflex loop tightens up nicely once the screen fills and you are juggling threats at three distances. Everything around it is thin: no progression, little variety between runs, and an Iraq War-era presentation that now reads as period artifact more than atmosphere. Singleplayer only, and most people will see all of it inside an hour. Want a short arcade blast, it delivers. Want something to live in, look elsewhere.
