Battlefield Hardline

I went in expecting standard Battlefield fare with a cosmetic skin. Instead, Hardline commits to the premise: you're either a cop or a criminal, and the campaign actually tries to tell a story about police corruption. The multiplayer modes lean into the theme with Heist and Blood Money objectives that feel distinct from typical conquest grind. The problem is the foundation wasn't ready for it. Gunplay is solid enough, but the maps feel cramped compared to earlier Battlefield titles, and the whole thing shipped with janky hit registration that never got fully smoothed out. If you're nostalgic for mid-2010s multiplayer or just want to see a franchise take a weird risk, there's something here. Most players moved on fast, which means servers are ghost towns now. Single-player campaign is forgettable noise. It's a curio piece for FPS collectors, not a reason to dust off Origin.
