Cold, Cold Heart alone is worth the price of admission for any Arkham fan, but the rest of this pass is padded out with challenge maps and skin packs that most players will forget exist.

I went into this season pass expecting a well-rounded expansion to one of the more underrated entries in the Arkham series, and what I got was a deeply uneven package held together by one genuinely excellent piece of content. The headline attraction is Cold, Cold Heart, a story campaign set a week after the main game's Christmas Eve events. Mr. Freeze crashes a New Year's Eve gala at Wayne Manor, and you spend the first act fighting through your own home as Bruce Wayne before suiting up in the Batcave. The XE Suit, Thermal Batarangs, and ice wall takedowns give the combat and predator encounters a fresh mechanical spin. Dropping icicles on clustered enemies with a heated batarang, or using the environment against Freeze in his final confrontation, feels genuinely considered rather than bolted on. For a piece of story DLC this length, that is exactly what you want. The Initiation pack is the other named story content here, and it is a much thinner offering. It amounts to four short cutscenes and four challenge maps focused on a young Bruce Wayne training in Hong Kong. Fans of the Arkham challenge room formula will get some mileage out of those maps, but anyone expecting a story arc comparable to Cold, Cold Heart will be disappointed. The gap in quality between the two is large enough to notice immediately. Rounding out the pass are two skin packs covering a wide range of Batman costumes, including Gotham by Gaslight and Brightest Day variants, plus the Infinite Earth and New Millennium collections. Skins in Arkham games are a small pleasure - good for screenshot moments, occasionally locked behind completion milestones - but they are not reasons to buy a season pass on their own. The Deathstroke Challenge Pack and Black Mask Challenge Pack are not included here, worth knowing before you assume this covers everything. For players who already own some of the individual DLC packs, check what you have before buying. The pass bundles most of the single-player content in one place, and the value calculus improves significantly at a discount. The core audience here is the Arkham Origins completionist who wants Cold, Cold Heart's tight Mr. Freeze story and does not mind that the rest of the bundle is largely filler. Casual fans of the base game will find Cold, Cold Heart alone justifies a look, but the surrounding content rarely rises above perfunctory. Alex, Scout Team

Worth it for Cold, Cold Heart's Mr. Freeze campaign; the rest of the pass is filler best treated as a bonus.
