I went in expecting typical backrooms fare - corridors, dread, slow crawls through liminal spaces - and that's mostly what I got. The horror atmosphere works better than the budget suggests, leaning on environmental storytelling and unsettling quiet rather than jump scares. The survival elements (resource scavenging, health tracking) add friction that keeps you cautious instead of just wandering. Exploration is the main hook here, and if you're the type who finds creepy hallways inherently compelling, you'll get your money's worth. The rough patches are real though. Combat is clunky, performance stutters on certain areas, and the story beats feel threadbare. This is a game that knows what it wants to be - a slow-burn horror exploration experience - and commits to that vision even when the tech can't quite keep up. It's not polished, but it's earnest, and that counts for something in the backrooms genre.
