Awakened

I went in expecting a moody character-driven experience, and Awakened does attempt that framework: a modest RPG focused on narrative choices and personality rather than gear treadmills or boss patterns. The world building hints at something thoughtful, and there's genuine effort to make dialogue matter. Problem is, the execution feels thin. The pacing drags in places where momentum matters, mechanical systems don't click together in satisfying ways, and the payoff doesn't quite justify the setup. It's not broken, just unfocused - a game that needed more playtesting before launch to figure out what it wanted to be. Skip it unless you're specifically hunting for underdog indie RPGs and have low expectations for polish. If the premise hooks you hard, wait for a price drop and temper your hopes.
