Cosmetic DLC for AC Origins that bundles a bonus mission, the Desert Cobra gear set, and 3 free ability points. Slim but functional if you want a head start.

Assassin's Creed Origins is the pivot point where Ubisoft finally committed to turning the Assassin's Creed series into a proper action-RPG, and it mostly pulls it off. You play as Bayek, a Medjay - essentially an ancient Egyptian lawman - whose personal tragedy spirals outward into a conspiracy that reshapes a civilization. The main game is one of the stronger entries in the franchise precisely because Bayek is an actual character with grief, humor, and motivation, rather than a hooded mannequin. The Deluxe Pack is a small add-on sold alongside or on top of the base game, and its value depends almost entirely on how much you care about cosmetics and a very light mechanical nudge. What you get is the Ambush at Sea mission, the Desert Cobra pack, and 3 bonus ability points. The mission is a standalone naval combat encounter - a format Origins does well enough, with ship-to-ship arrow barrages and boarding sequences - but it is short and self-contained, more of an appetizer than a side quest with narrative weight. Do not expect lore payoff or character development here. The Desert Cobra pack includes one outfit, two legendary weapons, one legendary shield, and a mount. The cosmetics are visually distinct and the legendary weapons come with stat rolls that can carry you through early-to-mid game content without trivializing it entirely. The mount is a cosmetic convenience, nothing more. The 3 ability points are the most mechanically interesting inclusion, if you can call three points in a sprawling skill tree interesting. Origins' ability system is tiered across three branches - Hunter, Warrior, and Seer - covering everything from predator bow damage bonuses to sleep darts to extended adrenaline burst windows. Three points let you grab one meaningful early unlock or spread thinly across three cheap nodes. It softens the early game slightly but does not reshape it. Experienced players who want to beeline toward a specific build archetype will appreciate skipping a few hours of starter-zone farming. New players might not even notice the difference until they check their ability screen. Honestly, the Deluxe Pack reads like a pre-order bonus that aged into a store listing. There is nothing here that expands the story, adds a new region, or changes how the game plays in any lasting way. The Desert Cobra gear looks good and the weapons are legitimately useful for a while, but Origins is long enough that you will replace them with better drops before you are halfway through. If you are buying Origins for the first time and the Deluxe Pack is bundled at a small premium over the standard edition, the cosmetics and the ability point head start make it a reasonable grab. If you are weighing it as a standalone purchase against the Hidden Ones or Curse of the Pharaohs expansions, those are the pieces of content that actually extend the world in ways worth caring about. This pack is for completionists and outfit collectors, full stop. Monika, Scout Team
