About Arch Legends
I went in cautiously. Arch Legends leans hard on the 'no microtransactions' angle, which is refreshing, but that's where the novelty ends. It's a straightforward action-RPG focused on map exploration and creature hunting, with hero customization that amounts to stat allocation and loot swapping. The systems are surface-level: combat lacks nuance, progression is linear, and the multiplayer component feels tacked on rather than integrated. There's no real strategy layer here, just execute builds that the game telegraphs for you. The core loop works for a while if you're hunting casual playtime, but there's no meta-depth or build variety that rewards theorycrafting. Solo players get what they pay for: a serviceable dungeon-crawler with zero monetization friction. The problem is there's also zero mechanical friction to reward skillful play or clever loadout synergy. It's competent but forgettable, suitable only if you want something to mindlessly farm between better games.
