Among Us 3D: VR
Putting a headset on and lying to your friends' faces hits different. Among Us VR turns a flat social deduction game into something genuinely tense.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for VR owners with a willing friend group; proximity voice chat alone makes it worth the headset tax.

Every store in this table quotes us in euros, so the EUR figure is the price the seller actually set, not our arithmetic — which is why EUR is also the currency we rank in. We only list an offer here when the store gives us its price in euros, so nothing in this table is a number we invented.
Pick USD, PLN, GBP, CAD or AUD in the header and we convert from EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate — converted amounts are prefixed with ~. Your bank or the store may apply a different rate at checkout. We never hide offers based on where you are: everyone sees this whole table.
We may earn a commission when you buy games through links on this page — at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings or verdicts.

About Among Us 3D: VR
I went into Among Us VR as a skeptic of both the original game and the idea that porting it to VR would add anything meaningful. I was wrong on both counts. The move to first-person changes the social calculus in ways that are hard to explain until you've actually stood in the Skeld's cafeteria, watched someone's avatar nervously shift around near a vent, and had to keep your own body language under control during an emergency meeting. The physical presence alone rewires the tension. The game's standout mechanic is proximity voice chat. When you can hear another player's voice fade in as they walk toward you, and whisper suspicions into someone's ear while the Impostor is in the same room, it stops feeling like a party game and starts feeling like a genuine social experiment. Tasks are handled with motion controls, so wiring panels and diverting power become brief physical interactions rather than click-and-wait minigames. As a Ghost, you still complete tasks and can chat freely with other dead players, while the living can't hear or see you. The sound design even distorts living voices when you're dead, which is a small detail that lands harder than it should. The criticisms are real but finite. At launch the game shipped with limited customization options, no cameras, and no ability to adjust impostor count or cooldown timers. The Skeld is the only map that matters for a while, and some of its spaces feel open to the point of emptiness. The VR-only requirement is the biggest practical barrier: you cannot play this with flat-screen friends, so your lobby is only as good as your VR-owning social circle. The Steam reviews sit at 74 percent positive, which is solid but not glowing, and the friction is almost always tied to player count and matchmaking rather than the game itself. Cross-platform multiplayer between headsets helps, but the pool of VR owners is still smaller than regular PC. Who is this actually for? If you have a capable VR setup and a few friends who do too, this is probably the best use-case for social VR gaming right now. Lying to someone's face in three dimensions is a genuinely different experience. If you're a solo player or most of your friends game flat, the VR-only requirement will box you out hard. The Metacritic score of 82 reflects the ceiling when conditions are right. The Steam rating reflects the floor when they aren't.
