Amazing Grace -What color is your attribute?-
Spend 20-plus hours trapped in a Christmas time loop with four heroines and a mystery that actually respects your intelligence - if you can stomach a slow, slice-of-life-heavy first act before the stakes arrive.
GamerScout Verdict
Best for Steins;Gate-adjacent VN fans who want a mystery that builds carefully and a cast worth seeing through to the true route.

About Amazing Grace -What color is your attribute?-
My first impression of Amazing Grace was that Cabbage Soft had made the coziest possible visual novel and accidentally buried a genuinely tense mystery inside it. The art, illustrated by Korie Riko, is soft and cutesy, the town is quaint, and the early chapters are all warm introductions and school-life banter. Then Christmas hits, the town burns, and suddenly you are in something much more serious than the pastel aesthetic suggested. That tonal bait-and-switch is either the game's cleverest trick or its most frustrating quality depending on your patience with slow starts. The setup follows protagonist Shuu, an amnesiac outsider who wakes in a walled, Renaissance-art-obsessed town called St. Aria Academy. He befriends classmates Yune, Kirie, Kotoha, and Sakuya before the December 25th conflagration destroys everything. Yune rewinds time to December 2nd, and the loop begins. What makes this more interesting than a standard time-loop premise is the structure the game imposes on it: Yune's rewind ability has a hard limit on uses, which puts genuine pressure on each repeated Advent. The game also skips efficiently through repeated scenes across loops, so you are not sitting through the same days verbatim. Each new loop peels back another layer of the mystery, with earlier discoveries sometimes reshaping how you read events you already saw. The route structure follows what reviewers have called a ladder format rather than a traditional branching tree. The common route keeps extending, and you can choose to step off at certain points to pursue a heroine's story. Two of the four routes branch early enough that they carry less of the mystery content; the other two are more satisfying because they carry more of the central plot with them. After Stories unlock per heroine once you clear their route, adding romantic closure and some extra story. The adult content patch is available separately and free via Johren for those who want it, though it retains mosaic censorship as is standard for Shiravune releases. Where the game earns its Steam rating - sitting at 93 percent positive across over a hundred reviews - is in character writing and mystery construction. The false trails land. The twists genuinely surprised players who thought they had it figured out. The group dynamic between Shuu and his friends carries a lot of humor, some of it lewd, some of it warm, and the individual heroine personalities are distinct enough that route preferences split the community clearly. Sakuya and Yune tend to come up most favorably. The criticism that sticks is the near-kinetic-novel quality of its branching: outside of the romance choices, meaningful decisions are sparse. If you want to chase bad endings by making clever wrong calls, you will be disappointed. There are also minor technical gripes - sprite art capped at 720p and some reported audio issues at launch - that do not sink the experience but are worth knowing. For visual novel fans who have a taste for Steins;Gate-style time-loop mysteries wrapped in a romantic cast, Amazing Grace delivers more than its indie pedigree suggests. For players who need constant agency or hate the genre's tendency toward slice-of-life padding, the common route's first half will test your tolerance. The roughly 20-hour runtime is honest value for what you get, and the ladder structure means completing the full picture rewards the investment.
