GamerScout Verdict
Solid three-player co-op shooter with legs only if you have friends and patience for the grind.

About Aliens: Fireteam Elite
I went in hoping for Left 4 Dead meets the Alien franchise, and that's sort of what you get. Fireteam Elite is a three-person cooperative third-person shooter where you gun down waves of Xenomorphs across campaign missions, then farm endgame difficulty tiers for better loot. The gunplay is responsive, character classes have distinct loadouts (Gunner, Demolisher, Technician, Recon), and the Alien universe theming gives it more flavor than most procedural shooters. The problem is that the loop wears thin fast. Missions repeat, the narrative never materializes beyond "contain the threat," and endgame becomes pure spreadsheet min-maxing with diminishing returns. If you want a weekend co-op romp with friends, it delivers solid moment-to-moment fun. If you're after the narrative depth or build complexity RPG fans crave, you'll bounce off long before the grind becomes tolerable. It's a decent rental, not a keeper.
