About Aliens: Fireteam Elite Into the Hive Edition
I've logged enough hours in Fireteam Elite to know what it's trying to do: Left 4 Dead with Xenomorphs and a light RPG progression system. The core loop works. Third-person shooting feels responsive, the alien variety (runners, warriors, soldiers) forces tactical positioning, and the loadout customization - weapon attachments, perks, class abilities - gives you real knobs to turn for your playstyle. Solo play is viable, co-op is where it lives, and the extraction-based mission structure (get from A to B without dying) keeps pacing tight. The problem: there's not much game underneath that structure. Missions blur together after a few hours. The narrative doesn't land - you're just "stopping a threat," and the writing doesn't make you care about your squad. Build variety exists on paper but flattens out once you hit the level cap. If you want 15-20 hours of solid xenomorph-blasting with friends, grab it. If you're hunting the next Helldivers 2 or a campaign with real stakes, this isn't it.
