About Alicia Griffith – Lakeside Murder
I went in expecting a traditional adventure game in the vein of 90s detective sims, and Alicia Griffith delivers exactly that, no more. You're gathering clues, interrogating suspects, and piecing together what happened at the lake. The premise is solid, and if you're the type who enjoys slower-paced mystery stories with inventory puzzles and dialogue trees, there's something here. The production values are decidedly minimal, though, this feels like a passion project from a small team, and it shows in the UI design and voice work. The real issue is that Alicia Griffith doesn't do anything exceptionally well. It's functional but forgettable, the kind of game that occupies a specific niche (fans of pure point-and-click detective work) and probably won't appeal beyond that audience. If you're hunting for hidden gems in the adventure genre and your bar is "solves mysteries without crashing," you might find value here. Everyone else should manage expectations.
