I stumbled onto AGON expecting a traditional adventure, but what Private Moon Studios delivered is something weirder and more specific: a trilogy that treats ancient board games as the actual plot engine, not window dressing. You're Professor Hunt hopping from London to Lapland to Madagascar, hunting down rare games and trading them to unlock story progression. It's half adventure game, half collectible card game philosophy baked into a point-and-click shell. The trading-card mechanic is the heart of it. You acquire games, barter with NPCs, and gradually piece together what the mysterious codex actually is. It's not going to appeal to anyone craving big cinematic set pieces or action, but if you like obscure puzzle boxes and don't mind the slower pacing of older adventures, the oddball premise and globe-trotting structure have genuine charm. Fair warning: this is low-key stuff from 2015 with minimal online presence, so you're buying on faith that the concept clicks for you.
