About Aggelos 2
The whole game pivots on the Aggelos learning to use darkness as a tool rather than a threat, and once that clicks you stop reading the two realms as separate maps and start treating them as one board with two states. A wall in the realm of light becomes a path in the dark. A puzzle you shrugged past an hour ago suddenly has an obvious answer. That swap is the engine here, and it changes how you move: less sprinting toward the next boss, more standing still and asking which version of this room you need. The combat is straightforward 2D action, tight and honest but demanding, and it does not soften its edges for you. Expect deaths that feel like your fault and a difficulty curve that assumes you are paying attention. What it does exceptionally well is layering secrets into an interconnected world that rewards curiosity. What it does less well is respecting your time when you take a wrong turn, and the backtracking will grate if exploration is not your thing. If you liked the first Aggelos or you grew up on Wonder Boy style action-platformers, this is aimed squarely at you.
