A Fistful Of Yankees

I spent a few hours with A Fistful of Yankees expecting a spaghetti western take on traditional RTS mechanics, and the bones are there: squad-based unit control, resource management, and asymmetric mission design. The concept of leading Yankee troops through frontier skirmishes has genuine appeal, and the setting gives permission to ignore the typical medieval or sci-fi aesthetic that dominates the genre. Problem is the execution feels unfinished. The tutorial glosses over crucial mechanics, and UI clarity takes a back seat to atmosphere. If you're the type who reads tooltips and tolerates rough edges in indie strategy games, there's a playable experience here worth poking at. But A Fistful of Yankees doesn't yet justify the time investment required to master its systems. The AI needs sharpening, and the mission flow needs tighter pacing.
