The friction in the first hour has nothing to do with difficulty and everything to do with expectation. The word Wizardry on a store page promises grid movement, party wipes and a maze you map by hand, and what actually installs is a listening library: the remastered scores for The Five Ordeals and Prisoners of the Battles, with remaster supervision by Basiscape, the studio behind 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and work on Elden Ring. Push past that mismatch and the craft is real. The labyrinth loops hold their tension without a party on screen, and the combat cues have the stiff, ceremonial menace that old-school first-person RPGs live on. What it does not do is stand on its own. Stripped of the crawl underneath, most of this becomes background listening, and the handful of user reviews reflects how narrow that audience is. Worth it if you already play The Five Ordeals and want the tracks outside the launcher, or if you collect JRPG scores. If you came here for the dungeon, the dungeon is sold elsewhere.
