I went in expecting a racing game because of the tag, but Windstorm is really a casual riding simulator wrapped around a movie adaptation. You're Ari, exploring Alpine trails on horseback, building a relationship with Windstorm through story sequences and low-stakes riding missions. Controller support is solid and the whole thing runs fine on modest hardware, which matters for the family audience this targets. The problem: "racing" is generous. These aren't races so much as guided rides with mild time goals. If you loved the Windstorm films and want to spend a few hours with the characters, it delivers that. If you're looking for any kind of competitive challenge or actual sim depth, walk away. It's a fine couch experience for kids and film fans, but adults will finish it in an afternoon and move on.
